Synopsis

A CL65 FLIGHT CREW DURING TKOF ROLL; RECEIVED A CONFIGURATION AILERON MASTER WARNING. TKOF ABORTED. AILERON TRIM WAS NOTICED MOVING TO THE LEFT ON ITS OWN.

Narrative

DURING TKOF ROLL WE RECEIVED A CONFIGN AILERON MASTER WARNING. PRIOR TO TKOF WE PERFORMED THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST AND WE VERIFIED THAT ALL TRIMS WERE CONFIGURED FOR TKOF AT GREEN. ACCORDING TO MY COPLT AFTER WE ABORTED; HE SAW THE AILERON TRIM MOVE TO THE L ON ITS OWN. THE ABORTED TKOF WAS PERFORMED SAFELY AND ACCORDING TO THE CHKLIST. WE TALKED TO OUR DISPATCHER AND AGREED TO RETURN TO THE GATE FOR MAINT. ALL PAX AND CREW WERE OK TO CONTINUE TO DEST WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: REPORTER STATED THIS IS AN ELECTRIC AILERON TRIM WITH DUAL SWITCHES ON THE CENTER PEDESTAL. THIS WAS A CONFIGURATION 1 ON THE EICAS DISPLAY. HE HASN'T HEARD OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TRIM SWITCHES PREVIOUS TO THIS INCIDENT. REPORTER ALSO STATED THE CL-65 DOES HAVE A PROBLEM WITH AIR LOADS REDUCING THE AILERON TRIM INPUTS IN FLIGHT. THE RPTR BELIEVES BOMBARDIER AND FAA ARE WORKING TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. THE CAUSE OF THE UNCOMMANDED AILERON TRIM INPUT IS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME.
