CRJ200 FLT CREW REPORTS CONFUSION DURING VISUAL APPROACH TO RWY 29 AT GJT AND LANDS ON RWY 22.

Narrative

APCH CLRED US TO LAND ON RWY 29; SWITCHED TO TWR AND WAS CLRED TO LAND RWY 29 L BASE ENTRY. ON FINAL FOR RWY 29 MY FO ASKED WHICH RWY I WAS SETTING UP FOR. I SAID RWY 29 AND HE SAID IT WAS THE OTHER ONE. WE WERE IN A POS TO LAND ON THE OTHER RWY 22; BUT I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO LOOK WITHOUT GOING AROUND AND REENTERING. WINDS WERE CALM WITH NO TFC CONFLICTS. RWYS 22 AND 29 AT GJT COME TOGETHER AT A POINT AND ON THE ARPT DIAGRAM THE NUMBERS ARE LISTED CLOSE TOGETHER. I THOUGHT THAT I MUST HAVE LOOKED AT IT WRONG AND ENDED UP LNDG ON RWY 22. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 762856: FLYING INTO GRAND JUNCTION; APCH CLRED US FOR THE VISUAL RWY 29. I READ BACK CLRED VISUAL RWY 29. WE SWITCHED OVER TO TWR CTL AND TWR TOLD US L BASE RWY 29 CLR TO LAND. I READ BACK THAT INFO CORRECTLY. THE CAPT WHO WAS FLYING SET UP CORRECTLY FOR A L BASE RWY 29. I LOOKED DOWN AT MY ARPT DIAGRAM AND GOT CONFUSED. THE RWY NUMBERS ON THE CHART ARE REAL CLOSE TOGETHER. I THOUGHT WE WERE SET UP ON THE WRONG RWY SO I TOLD THE CAPT SO. HE TRUSTED ME AND TURNED FINAL FOR RWY 22 INSTEAD OF RWY 29. WE SAFELY LANDED AND TWR MADE US AWARE OF OUR MISTAKE. NO OTHER PLANES WERE IN THE AREA AND SAFETY WAS NEVER AN ISSUE. IF I HAD READ THE ARPT DIAGRAM CORRECTLY THERE NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE.
