THE CRJ200 QRH 'GEAR DN' AND 'GEAR UP' DISAGREE ANNUNCIATIONS WOULD BE CLEARER IF WORDED 'GEAR SELECTED DN' AND 'GEAR SELECTED UP.'

THE CRJ200 QRH 'GEAR DN' AND 'GEAR UP' DISAGREE ANNUNCIATIONS WOULD BE CLEARER IF WORDED 'GEAR SELECTED DN' AND 'GEAR SELECTED UP.'
Narrative
ON FINAL APCH WE SELECTED THE LNDG GEAR LEVER DOWN. THE MAIN GEAR SHOWED DOWN AND LOCKED. HOWEVER; THE NOSE GEAR SHOWED UP. WE EXECUTED A GAR AND FOLLOWED THE QRH PROC; AS WELL AS ALL OTHER REQUIRED CHKLISTS. IN FOLLOWING THE QRH; THE GEAR WAS CYCLED UP AND BACK DOWN AND SHOWED DOWN AND LOCKED. WE MADE A NORMAL LNDG. NO FURTHER ACTIONS WERE NECESSARY. I DO HAVE ONE RECOMMENDATION THAT PERTAINS TO THE VERBIAGE IN THE QRH. WHEN FINDING THE APPROPRIATE CHKLIST UNDER EMER; UNDER THE GEAR DISAGREE MSG CHKLIST; THERE IS A GEAR UP DISAGREE MESSAGE AND A GEAR DN DISAGREE MESSAGE. I BELIEVE THAT CHANGING THESE TO READ 'GEAR SELECTED UP' AND 'GEAR SELECTED DN' WOULD CLEAR UP ANY CONFUSION AS TO THE STATUS OF THE GEAR. IF YOU LOOK AT 'GEAR UP DISAGREE' THAT COULD MEAN TO YOU THAT ONE OF YOUR GEAR (NOSE; OR EITHER MAIN) IS IN THE UP POSITION; NOT THAT THE LEVER IS SELECTED IN THE UP POSITION. THIS COULD LEAD YOU TO FOLLOW THE WRONG CHKLIST. IT TOOK US A MINUTE TO LOOK AND FIND THE APPROPRIATE CHKLIST AND SIMPLY CHANGING THE VERBIAGE COULD SAVE FUTURE CREWS TIME WHEN SEARCHING FOR THIS CHKLIST.
