CLRED ON TO HOLD JUST AS ACR Y LANDED AND MISSED NEAREST EXIT WITH TFC ON 4 MI FINAL. 'ACR Y; NO DELAY CLRING RWY; ACFT ON RWY FOR DEP AND 1 ON SHORT FINAL.' 'ACR X CLRED FOR TKOF RWY XXR; NO DELAY ON THE ROLL; ACFT 2 MI FINAL.' WE ACKNOWLEDGE; PUSH IT UP AND RELEASE BRAKES AS TWR CTLR BEGINS LONG RADIO XMISSION TELLING ACFT SHORT FINAL THIS ISN'T GOING TO WORK; ACR X CANCEL TKOF WHILE WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR TKOF CALLOUTS 'AIRSPD ALIVE;' 'PWR SET.' MY ALERT FO TELLS TWR 'WE'RE ON TKOF ROLL' AND THE CTLR SIMULTANEOUSLY ANNOUNCES I SEE YOU'RE ON TKOF ROLL; CONTINUE TKOF AND BEGINS GIVING ACFT SHORT FINAL GAR INSTRUCTIONS. MORAL TO STORY: NO REASON TO PUSH THE SPACING; NO ACFT WAITING TO TAKE OFF BEHIND US. TWR CTLR DID NOT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THE TKOF AS A CRITICAL PHASE OF FLT INVOLVING CALLOUTS AND MONITORING; WE WERE RAPIDLY ENTERING THE HIGH SPD REJECT REGIME AS WE FINISHED HEARING AND UNDERSTANDING HIS RADIO CALL DISTRACTING OUR CALLOUTS UP TO V1. GET TWR CTLRS BACK IN THE COCKPIT EVERY NOW AND THEN TO UNDERSTAND THE DISCOMFORT OF SITTING ON THE RWY AS THE MEAT IN SANDWICH BTWN ACFT EXITING AND ACFT LNDG WHILE TRYING TO MAKE TKOF TIMING WORK OUT DURING A CRITICAL MONITORING PHASE OF FLT ESPECIALLY WHEN UNNECESSARY.
