ACR CAPT DESCRIBED PRE FLT EVENT WHEN MAINT PERSONNEL SPILLED BLUE WATER ON F/A CAUSING IRRITATION.
Narrative
LATE INBOUND SO FLT ATTENDANTS AND PLTS BOARDED TOGETHER AT DOOR 2L. I GAVE BRIEFING TO FLT ATTENDANTS AND PURSER AT DOOR 2L WHILE CLEANERS WERE WORKING. I WENT TO THE COCKPIT AND FO DID WALKAROUND. WHEN COMING BACK; FO SAW LAVATORY SVC CARRYING BUCKET FULL OF BLUE WATER ONTO THE PLANE AND HE TRIPPED AT THE DOOR AND SPILLED BLUE WATER ON OUR PURSER; HER BAGS; AND FLOOR AT 2L. FO TOLD LAVATORY PERSON TO GET A SUPVR AND FLT ATTENDANTS CALLED THEIR SUPVR. I WAS TOLD OF INCIDENT AT THIS POINT AND WENT BACK TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. OUR PURSER WANTED TO WORK BUT WAS STARTING TO GET SOME IRRITATION ON HER LEGS DUE TO THE FLUID. I POINTED OUT THAT THIS FLUID IS HIGHLY TOXIC AND SHE SHOULD GET SOME ATTN TO ALLEVIATE ANY SPILL PROBS TO HER AND POSSESSIONS. SHE WENT WITH HER SUPVRS AND I HAVE NOT HEARD WHAT HAPPENED TO HER YET BUT HAVE LEFT AN EMAIL WITH MY CONCERNS. WE CALLED MAINT AND THEY CAME TO CLEAN THE FLOOR AND GAVE US A CLEAN MAINT RELEASE TO CONTINUE. WE HAD NO PROBS WITH THE LAVATORY AND THE BLUE FLUID WAS NOT NEEDED AND NOT ALLOWED BY LAVATORY PEOPLE TO BE CARRIED ON BOARD ACCORDING TO MAINT. NEITHER LAVATORY PERSON SPOKE ENGLISH AND WE WERE NOT ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WHAT WE NEEDED. I HAVE WORKED WITH THIS FLUID BEFORE AND IT IS NOT SOMETHING WE SHOULD TAKE LIGHTLY AS IT IS CORROSIVE AND NOT GOOD FOR HUMAN CONTACT; THAT IS WHY THEY WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. ANOTHER PROB WE HAD WAS THE JETWAY PWR. OUR APU WAS INOP AND THE PWR KEPT SHUTTING OFF. WE DOWNLOADED AS MUCH AS WE COULD AND FINALLY GOT AN AIR START. ACCORDING TO MAINT; THE CITY OF ZZZ CTLS THE PWR AND THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY.
