A320 CAPT CALLS IN FATIGUED AFTER NUMEROUS ACFT SWAPS DUE TO MAINTENANCE.
Narrative
THE DAY STARTED WITH MECHS BRINGING AN AIRPLANE FROM THE HANGAR AND NOT NOTICING A HYD LEAK WHICH EVENTUALLY LED TO AN EQUIP SUBSTITUTION. THE REMAINDER OF THE SCHEDULE'S 5-LEG DAY PRESENTED ME WITH ACFT SUBSTITUTIONS BROUGHT ON BY OTHER CREWS REFUSING TO FLY THE PLANES IN THEIR PRESENT STATE OF DISREPAIR. MY FO AND I RELUCTANTLY ACCEPTED EVERYONE'S DISCARDED AIRPLANES IN AN EFFORT TO KEEP AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO SCHEDULE AND TO NOT INCONVENIENCE PAX. ON THE FINAL LEG; MY ACFT WAS PURLOINED AND I WAS ASSIGNED AN ACFT WITH AN IDG PROB THAT ULTIMATELY WAS NOT REPAIRABLE. WE SAT ON THE ACFT WAITING FOR A DECISION FROM MAINT UNTIL THE FLT WAS EVENTUALLY CANCELED AT XA40. CREW SCHEDULING SUBSEQUENTLY PLANNED OUR NEXT DAY OF FLYING BASED ON AN INACCURATE START TIME OF XW36 FOR OUR REST PERIOD. I EXPLAINED TO CREW SCHEDULING THE ERROR OF WHICH THEY MADE THE APPROPRIATE CORRECTIONS. THE CREW DESK INSISTED THAT WE TAKE AN XM00 DEP THE NEXT MORNING. I ATTEMPTED TO COMMUNICATE TO THE CREW DESK THAT WE WERE EXTREMELY TIRED AFTER DEALING WITH MECHANICAL ISSUES ON EVERY LEG AND WOULD NEED MORE REST THAN WAS SCHEDULED. TO NO AVAIL AND WITH SARCASTIC PLT PUSHING ON THE PART OF CREW SCHEDULING; OPTED FOR WHAT I BELIEVE IS THE SAFEST COURSE OF ACTION. I CALLED IN FATIGUED AND ADVISED I WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR THE NEXT DAY DEP OF XP52. I WAS LEFT NO CHOICE BUT TO OPT FOR FATIGUE WHEN CREW SCHEDULING ENGAGED IN NEGOTIATING AND BERATING ME OVER CONTRACT INTERP.
