A CRJ-200 FLIGHT CREW PUSHED FROM THE GATE WITH INSUFFICIENT FUEL FOR THEIR FLIGHT. THEY NOTICED THE ERROR ON TAXI OUT AND RETURNED FOR MORE FUEL.
Narrative
AT GATE; WE DID OUR NORMAL CHKLISTS AND HALFWAY DOWN ON THE BEFORE START; WE NOTED THAT THE FUEL WAS STARTING TO GET PUMPED. WHILE FINISHING THE CHKLIST; THE FUELER HAD PROBS WITH THE FUELING CART. HE THEN STOPPED WITHOUT US NOTICING. WE WERE GETTING READY TO CLOSE THE DOOR FOR DEP AND DIDN'T REALIZE THE FUEL QUANTITY WAS LOW. WE DID OUR NORMAL PUSHBACK PROCS AND TAXIED OUT FOR THE RWY. WE WERE ABOUT 5TH IN LINE FOR TKOF WHEN I LOOKED DOWN AT THE FUEL QUANTITY; IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT HE DIDN'T FINISH FUELING. WE COORDINATED RADIO COM WITH OPS AND DISPATCH TO GET A GATE AND FUEL IMMEDIATELY. WE TAXIED INTO A GATE AND KEPT PEOPLE ON (WITH DOOR OPEN) AND GOT FUELED QUICKLY. AFTER THAT; WE WENT ON AS NORMAL (WITH NO LONG TAXI LINE) AND GOT TO ZZZ WITH NO OTHER ISSUES; BUT JUST BEING 33 MINS LATE FROM ORIGINAL ARR TIME. IT WAS LEG #6 OF THE DAY; AND 11TH HR OF DUTY. WE JUST MISSED CONFIRMING THE FUEL BEFORE PUSHBACK. WE DID CATCH IT BEFORE TKOF AND DIDN'T GO FLYING WITH INSUFFICIENT FUEL QUANTITY. FUELER STARTED AND THEN STOPPED WITHOUT TELLING US THAT THERE WAS A PROB WITH THE FUELING CART. WITH PREPPING FOR PUSHBACK; WE ASSUMED THAT THE FUELING WAS COMPLETE.
