A search and rescue operation has been halted after a twin-engine aircraft carrying seven people failed to arrive at its destination in Belize City.

What happened

A twin-engine aircraft disappeared while performing an ambulance mission from Chetumel to Belize City. The flight was transporting a total of seven individuals, including one patient, one companion, two doctors, and three crew members.

Following the failure of the aircraft to reach Belize City Airport, authorities initiated search and rescue operations. Despite these efforts, no wreckage or debris was located during the mission. After several days of searching, the operation was officially terminated as there were no signs of the plane or its passengers. It is currently suspected that the aircraft crashed into the sea near the coast of Belize.

Findings

No official investigation has concluded the specific reason for the disappearance, though the lack of any trace of the seven fatalities suggests a high-impact event in the ocean area.
