What happened
On January 6, 2008, a Cessna 170A, registration N5407C, attempted to land at a private airstrip in Ellsworth, Maine. The pilot initiated an approach to a 1,200-foot runway that was covered in snow, under conditions of visual meteorological rules (VMC) with a slight crosswind from the left.
Upon touchdown near the right edge of the runway, the aircraft bounced multiple times. Following these bounces, the airplane began yawing to the left and entered a right arcing turn. The aircraft subsequently collided with a building and a snow bank. There were no injuries resulting from the accident.
