Accident Overview
On February 24, 2010, at approximately 0729 central standard time, a ground collision occurred between two Beechcraft aircraft on taxiway Papa at Minneapolis-St. Paul International/Wold-Chamberlain Airport, near Minneapolis, Minnesota. Both flights were conducted under Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 135, in visual meteorological conditions, and both had instrument flight rules flight plans on file. Both flights were originating at the time of the accident.
Aircraft and Pilots
The aircraft involved were a Hawker Beechcraft Corp. 65-B80, registration N132BA, and a Hawker Beechcraft Corp. 65-A80, registration N95LL. The 65-B80 sustained minor damage, while the 65-A80 sustained substantial damage. Both aircraft were piloted by commercial pilots, and both pilots were uninjured.
Sequence of Events
The pilot of the Beechcraft 65-B80 reported that while holding on taxiway Papa, just short of Papa 2, for departure on runway 30 right, he set the parking brake to perform paperwork. He stated that the brake was not set hard enough, and with his head down writing, the aircraft rolled forward and contacted the rear of the aircraft ahead of it.
Investigation
Federal Aviation Administration inspectors examined the parking brake system of the 65-B80 and found no anomalies.

The 65-B80 was destined for Rice Lake Regional Airport - Carl's Field, near Rice Lake, Wisconsin. The 65-A80 was destined for Grand Rapids/Itasca County Airport - Gordon Newstrom Field, near Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
