What happened
On March 25, 2011, at approximately 1200 UTC, a Reims-Cessna F-150, registered I-NOLV, experienced an engine failure while operating in the cruise phase of flight. The aircraft had departed from Federico Fellini International Airport (LIPR) in Rimini, Italy, with the intention of landing at San Nicolo (LIPV) in Venice, Italy.
Following the loss of engine power, the pilot performed an emergency landing on the shoreline near Sottomarina di Chioggia, Italy. There were no injuries reported for the pilot or the passenger, and the aircraft sustained no damage during the landing.
