Accident Details
A private pilot was attempting to land at a grass field shortly before sunset. The approach was conducted to the west, directly into the sun. During the final approach, approximately 30 feet above ground level, the pilot noticed power transmission lines directly ahead. The airplane struck the lines and subsequently descended to the ground.
The aircraft sustained substantial damage in the accident sequence. The pilot and the passenger suffered minor injuries.
