Incident Overview
A helicopter engaged in an aerial observation flight at low altitude to inspect power lines experienced a loss of control after encountering a gust of wind. The pilot was maneuvering to execute a right turn when the gust occurred, leading to a loss of tail rotor effectiveness. Despite efforts to regain control, the helicopter descended into the tree tops before the pilot could fully recover, eventually coming to rest in a tree.
