Incident Summary
A solo student pilot was conducting a landing when, during touchdown near the approach end of the runway, the airplane bounced and floated. After the airplane came back down onto the airstrip, the pilot applied the brakes. The airplane then pulled hard to the right, departed the airstrip to the right, and crossed a ditch. Subsequently, the nose wheel separated and the airplane nosed over.
Damage
The accident resulted in substantial damage to both wings, the right wing lift strut, and the empennage.
Pilot Report
The student pilot reported that there were no pre-impact mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airframe or engine that would have precluded normal operation.
