What happened
On December 8, 2016, at approximately 1743 local time, a Cessna 350, registration N1222G, was involved in an accident at Seletar Airport, Singapore. The flight was being operated under the Singapore Civil Aviation Regulations.
Following an aborted takeoff at a speed exceeding 70 knots, the pilot was taxiing the aircraft back toward the parking bay. During this taxi, the pilot experienced a loss of brake authority, causing the aircraft to depart the taxiway centerline and veer to the left. While heading toward a parked Cessna 172, the pilot applied the left brake, causing the aircraft to execute a 180-degree turn. The aircraft then began taxiing toward a jet aircraft that was being towed into a parking bay on the opposite side of the Cessna 172.
After a second application of the left brake, the aircraft came to a stop in the middle of Taxiway WB5. During the event, the main landing gear caught fire. The fire was eventually extinguished, but the aircraft sustained significant heat damage to the belly and the main landing gear. There were no injuries resulting from the incident.
