What happened
On September 21, 2016, a Boeing 737-800 operated by Enter Air was undergoing pre-flight procedures at Warsaw Chopin Airport (EPWR). Following the pushback from the parking stand at 11:24 LMT, the crew began executing the before-taxi checklist. During this process, the 'ELEC' warning light illuminated on the electrical installation panel.
The crew performed the required checklist to address the warning, but the malfunction persisted. The captain reported the issue and taxied the aircraft back to parking stand number 14. The crew documented the event in the aircraft logs and notified the Maintenance Control Center (MCC).
The investigation
An investigation was conducted by the operator. Technical personnel were called to the aircraft to perform system tests. The inspection identified a failure within the static inverter.
Findings
- The primary cause of the incident was the malfunction of the static inverter.
- The repair process was time-consuming, necessitating the deboarding of all 185 passengers.
- A replacement aircraft was provided to complete the flight operations.
