What happened
On July 5, 2017, a Schweizer 269C helicopter, bearing registration F-GHAF, was performing a simulated engine failure maneuver near Bonvilliers, France. During the procedure, the engine lost power. The instructor on board attempted to restart the engine on three separate occasions, but the attempts were unsuccessful.
As the aircraft was in autorotation, one of the skids caught the ground, causing the helicopter to undergo a dynamic rollover and land on its side. There were no injuries resulting from the accident.
