What happened
On July 16, 2017, at 13:00 UTC, a Cessna 172M with registration RA-2842G experienced a total loss of engine power while operating near Khuzhir, Irkutskaya Oblast, Russia. Following the engine failure, the aircraft ditched into Lake Baikal.
