What happened
On June 12, 2019, at approximately 13:30 local time, an AgustaWestland AW1ly9 helicopter, registration EC-NEH, performed an emergency landing in an open field near Albarracín, Spain.
The aircraft was operating as a positioning flight for Babcock España, traveling from Alicante-Muchamiel Airfield (LEMU) toward a search and rescue airbase in Gijón, Spain. During the flight, the pilot executed the landing for reasons that were not identified.
The pilot, who was the sole occupant, was not injured. The helicopter sustained substantial damage during the event.
