Accident Overview
On September 12, 2021, at approximately 0900 Alaska daylight time, a Stinson 108-3, registration N6476M, sustained substantial damage in an accident near Port Alsworth, Alaska. The aircraft was operated as a personal flight under Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91. The pilot, who was the sole occupant, reported no injuries.
Pilot Report
According to the pilot, during the landing roll, while applying the brakes, the right brake "went flat." As a result, the airplane veered to the left, impacted a stump, and nosed over. The accident caused substantial damage to the fuselage and left wing.
Postaccident Examination
A postaccident examination of the brake system revealed no mechanical anomalies that would have precluded normal operation.
