What happened
On October 30, 2021, at approximately 10:04 local time, a Tecnam P2006T, registration SP-RVR, was conducting a training flight near the "S" point of the EPTM aerodrome. During the flight, a second aircraft, a Socata MS-894E Minerva 220GT, registration SP-FSU, approached the Tecnam aircraft on a converging course from the left.
The crew of the SP-RVR reported that the SP-FSU briefly flew in parallel with their flight path before changing direction and passing over them with a slight altitude advantage. The separation distance during this overtaking maneuver was estimated by the crew to be approximately 30 meters. Following the encounter, radio communications recorded by PANSA (PAŻP) indicated that the crew of the SP-FUS alerted the crew of the SP-RVR that the maneuver had placed the aircraft in a position that could have led to a collision. Notably, the crew of the SP-RVR did not communicate in Polish. Both aircraft subsequently landed safely at their respective destination airports.
The investigation
The PKBWL reviewed the incident report and analyzed radio communications provided by the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PAŻP) to establish the sequence of events and the proximity of the aircraft during the encounter.
