What happened
On September 3, 2022, an accident involving a SKYVAN SC-7, registration SP-HIP, occurred in the vicinity of Glina, near Piotrków Trybunalski, Poland. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is currently ongoing by the Polish State Commission on Aircraft Accident Investigation (PKBWL).
The investigation
The PKBWL research team has conducted an extensive technical and operational examination to reconstruct the events leading to the accident. The investigative actions have included:
- On-site inspections of the accident location and photographic documentation.
- Interviews with witnesses, including the aircraft owner.
- Analysis of radar data provided by the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency and the 32nd Tactical Air Base Commander.
- Review of airport surveillance and local residential monitoring footage.

- Flight profile simulations to replicate the aircraft's path.
To assist in the technical reconstruction, the commission has engaged several international entities and manufacturers. This includes requesting assistance from MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH to determine the propeller blade pitch at the time of the accident, seeking engine expertise from Honeywell Engines, and coordinating with the NTSB to retrieve data from the aircraft's Garmin GND530 unit.
