Baggage Loss During Takeoff Leads to Engine Propeller Strike at Nuevo Chaitén

Casualties unknown • AERÓDROMO “NUEVO CHAITÉN”, CL

A passenger aircraft experienced a cargo door failure during takeoff from Nuevo Chaitén, resulting in luggage striking a propeller and forcing an emergency return.

What happened

On October 31, 2024, at approximately 10:29 local time, an L410 UVP-E20 was performing a takeoff from the Nuevo Chaitel Aerodrome (SCTN) in the Los Lagos Region.
