What happened
On December 23, 2025, at approximately 17:38 UTC, a Dassault Falcon 50, registration 9H-DFS, crashed in the Kesikkavak neighborhood of the Haymana district in Ankara, Turkey. The aircraft, operated by Harmony Jets (Malta) and owned by Charlie Aircraft Limited, had departed from Ankara Esenboğa International Airport (LTAC) for Tripoli-Mitiga International Airport (HLLM).
Shortly after the departure, the flight crew began their climb, reaching FL330. At 20:31 local time, the crew declared a PAN-PAN emergency, reporting a general electrical failure and requesting radar vectors for an immediate return to Esenboable Airport. The pilot subsequently activated the 7700 emergency code. During the descent, the aircraft's altitude information became unreadable to radar controllers, and communication between the cockpit and air traffic control became unintelligible. At 20:38 local time, the aircraft disappeared from radar screens.
The aircraft struck a hill at an altitude of 1,330 meters with its engines at high power. The impact was so severe that the aircraft disintegrated, scattering debris across a 150,000 square meter area. All 8 fatalities (3 crew members and 5 passengers) were killed in the accident. The aircraft sustained total loss.
The investigation
The Turkish Transport Safety Investigation Center (UEİM) conducted an investigation into the crash. Investigators recovered the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR), which were sent to the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) for data downloading and analysis. The investigation also examined the aircraft's maintenance history, noting that a maintenance check had been completed by Harmony Aircraft Service in early December 2025. Meteorological data and fuel loading records were also reviewed as part of the ongoing inquiry.
