What happened
On September 5, 2015, at approximately 14:00 UTC, an Embraer EMB-711C (registration PT-NNZ) was performing a local flight at the Aeródromo Nacional de Aviação (SWNV) in Goiânia, Brazil. The aircraft was carrying a pilot and three passengers.
During the landing phase on runway 13, the pilot executed a touchdown approximately 630 meters from the threshold. Immediately following the contact with the runway, the aircraft veered to the right and exited the paved surface. The aircraft traveled across the grass, striking a concrete structure located 20 meters from the runway edge, followed by a collision with a stone and a perimeter fence. The aircraft sustained substantial damage, though all four occupants escaped without injury.
The investigation
The investigation, conducted by SERIPA VI, noted that the aircraft was removed from the accident site to a hangar in Anápolis without prior authorization from the investigation commission.
Investigators confirmed that the pilot held a valid Private Pilot license and medical certificate, with 90 total flight hours and only 5 hours of experience in this specific model. The aircraft was found to be airworthy, with all maintenance logs up to date, and was operating within weight and balance limits. Meteorological conditions were favorable for flight, and the runway surface was dry and unobstructed.
Technical examination of the landing gear revealed that the main wheels were rotating freely and the braking system showed no signs of malfunction. The pilot reported that the approach to runway 13 was destabilized, characterized by excessive speed and altitude.
