What happened
On a local training flight departing from the Chicoutimi/St-Honoré airport in Quebec, a Beech C23 Sundowner operated by Cégep de Chicoutimi was involved in an accident. The aircraft was carrying two occupants: an instructor and a student pilot.
While performing a simulated engine failure maneuver within the airport's traffic circuit, the aircraft struck vegetation approximately 1,300 feet from the threshold of runway 30. The impact resulted in the aircraft crashing and sustaining substantial damage. There was no fire following the collision, and the aircraft's emergency locator transmitter (ELT) activated upon impact. Both individuals on board sustained injuries.
