What happened
On 27 June 2015, a Piper-PA3/4-200T Seneca II, registered as SE-GIC, was involved in an accident at Malmö Airport (Sturup). The incident occurred during flight operations at the airfield, leading to a formal investigation by the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority (SHK).
The investigation
Following the accident, the SHK issued final report RL 2016:02, which contained two specific safety recommendations (R3 and R4) directed at the Swedish Transport Agency. The investigation focused on addressing the underlying safety concerns identified during the analysis of the event. The SHK subsequently reviewed the Swedish Transport Agency's formal response to these recommendations to determine if the proposed or implemented actions were sufficient to mitigate the risks identified in the original report.
Findings
The SHK assessment concluded that the Swedish Transport Agency's response to the safety recommendations was adequate. The authority determined that the measures taken or planned by the agency effectively addressed the safety issues raised in the investigation of the SE-GIC accident.
