What happened
During a flight demonstration at Trosa/Troselynda Airport, an aircraft departed from runway 12 and performed a brief flight before returning for landing. To avoid a power line crossing the final approach, the pilot intended to fly a long final with a steep glide path. However, the aircraft failed to stabilize until the moment before reaching the threshold.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft bounced three times. In response, the pilot initiated a go-around procedure. During this maneuver, the aircraft veered to the left, exiting the runway and entering a ditch. The aircraft subsequently rolled over its right wing and came to rest nose-down in the ditch. The impact resulted in the nose landing gear being torn off, along with structural damage to the fuselage, wings, and tail-plane. Both occupants of the aircraft escaped without injury.
The investigation
SHK investigators examined the runway dimensions and found discrepancies in the available landing distance. While external records suggested a runway length of 730 meters, SHK measurements confirmed the actual length was 666 meters. Furthermore, because the threshold for runway 12 was displaced at the time of the accident, only 590 meters were available for use. This available distance was insufficient for a landing based on the aircraft's performance documentation.
Findings
- The primary cause of the accident was that the go-around was initiated too late, which limited the pilot's ability to maintain control given their level of experience.

- Environmental and operational stressors, including the presence of a power line on the final approach and the displaced runway threshold, contributed to the event.
