What happened
During the final approach phase of flight to San Vicente de Chucurí Airport, a twin engine aircraft encountered an obstacle located just a few meters before the runway threshold. The aircraft made contact with an earth mound situated in the approach path. Following this impact, the plane lost stability and drifted out of control, eventually crashing into a nearby wooded area.
Despite the severity of the impact and the subsequent crash into the trees, all nine people on board managed to exit the wreckage. There were zero fatalities and no injuries reported among the occupants. The aircraft sustained damage that was classified as beyond repair.
