What happened
During a nighttime positioning flight originating from Chetumal, the crew was instructed to land on runway 33 at Toluca Airport. The flight proceeded without incident until the moment of touchdown. Immediately following contact with the runway, the aircraft type lost directional control and drifted toward the right side of the runway.
As the plane moved off the paved surface, it encountered soft ground. The impact with the terrain caused the undercarriage to separate from the airframe. The aircraft eventually came to a stop in a nearby grassy area. There were zero fatalities among the four occupants, all of whom were able to evacuate the wreckage safely. The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss.
Findings
- The aircraft veered off the runway following touchdown.
- Contact with soft ground led to the structural failure of the landing gear.
