What happened
On August 20, 1995, at approximately 14:55 Atlantic standard time, a domestic passenger flight operated by Hanaer Express, identified as flight 501, was involved in an accident at Jeremie Airport in Haiti. The aircraft, a N22B operated by International Jet Center, had departed from Port-Au-Prince International Airport at roughly 14:05.
During the landing roll phase of the flight, the aircraft experienced a loss of control. This maneuver led to the plane striking trees located near the runway. Despite the impact, there were no injuries reported among the 14 occupants, which included the pilot, the first officer, and 12 passengers.
Findings
At the time of the incident, the weather conditions were characterized by visual meteorological conditions. The flight was operating under a filed VFR flight plan. The collision with the trees resulted in substantial damage to the N22B aircraft.
