What happened

On November 22, 2008, at approximately 11:30 UTC, a Boeing 737, registered G-CEAF and operated by EAAC, was parked at Faro Airport (LPFR). During the parking phase of the operation, a fuel leak was detected originating from the number one engine.

The investigation

Following the detection of the leak, maintenance services were contacted to address the issue. The maintenance personnel successfully repaired the leak and subsequently cleared the aircraft for flight operations. The GPIAAF did not conduct a formal investigation into the incident, instead notifying the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB). The AAIB declined to launch an investigation and forwarded the relevant information to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
