What happened
On May 3, 2008, at approximately 18:20 UTC, an Airbus 319, registered HB-JZP, operated by EasyJet, was undergoing engine start procedures at Lisbon Airport (LPPT). During the start-up of the number two engine, a small fuel leak was detected.
Following the discovery of the leak, the flight crew aborted the departure sequence and returned the aircraft to the stand to address the technical anomaly.
The investigation
The GPIAAF did not initiate a formal investigation into the incident. However, the agency forwarded all available information regarding the occurrence to the Swiss accident investigation authority, BFU Switzerland, and expressed its availability to assist with any further investigative actions if required.
