What happened
On September 13, 2015, a Sintal S-2 UT (registration RA-0660G) was engaged in aerial chemical spraying operations for the purpose of desiccation in sunflower fields. The aircraft was operating under a sub-lease agreement for the purpose of completing agricultural tasks in the Ryazan region. Following nine successful flight segments that morning, the aircraft underwent refueling with gasoline and the loading of chemical tanks with pesticides. No malfunctions were reported regarding the engine, aircraft systems, or chemical application equipment prior to the final flight.
At 14:26, the pilot initiated the tenth flight segment. While executing a right-hand turn after exiting the spray run, the aircraft entered a steep negative pitch and struck the ground. There was no post-crash fire and no significant debris field was observed at the site. The pilot sustained 1 fatality.
The investigation
Witnesses at the scene reported that the aircraft's engine remained operational until the moment of impact with the terrain. The investigation noted that the aircraft's descent involved a high negative angle of pitch during the maneuver.
