What happened
On September 20, 2014, a SKY RANGER aircraft, registration RA-0274A, was conducting a routine ground test run following its recent assembly at the Zmeyovo airfield near Tver. During the takeoff roll along the runway, while maintaining a magnetic course of 210 degrees, the aircraft lifted off the ground and drifted to the right.
As a result of this deviation, the aircraft moved 200 meters away from the runway centerline. Upon landing, the aircraft struck several wooden structures located near the airfield. The pilot sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Findings
- The aircraft drifted from the runway axis by 200 meters.
- The collision resulted in the partial destruction of two wooden containers used as storage facilities.
