On February 11, 2022, an Antonov An-2 operated by LLC "Kamchatsky Krechet" was involved in an accident in the area of Severnye Koryaki, Kamchatka Krai. The aircraft, registration RA-33ASS99, was scheduled to transport food from Severnye Koryaki to the settlement of Tymlat. The flight was originally planned for departure at 23:15 on February 10, 2022.
Prior to the flight, the crew and technical specialists performed pre-flight preparations. The aircraft was equipped with 1,100 liters of aviation gasoline, which was calculated to be sufficient for the route. The aircraft was loaded with approximately 1,000 kg of cargo. The estimated takeoff weight on skis was approximately 5,500 kg, which was within the maximum allowable limits, and the center of gravity was within the specified range.
At 00:03 on February 11, 2022, the captain requested takeoff clearance from the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Elizovo) airport dispatcher. However, permission was denied because the flight plan had expired. The delay in departure was attributed to the aircraft not being ready for loading at the scheduled time.
Weather conditions at the time of the incident were reported as clear with calm winds. While the aircraft's technical maintenance was recorded in the logbook, investigators noted that a formal maintenance work order had not been drawn up, which was a violation of the maintenance regulations for the An-2.
