What happened
On November 26, 2017, the pilot in command of an EC-120B, registration RA-07226, operated by LLC Courier, completed a flight from the Bakovka site in the Moscow region to the Kolibri site in Kirsanov, landing at 10:32.
On the following day, November 27, 2017, the pilot planned a flight from the Kolibri site to the Matyra site near Lipetsk, accompanied by a passenger. At 08:23 UTC, the pilot submitted a flight plan for this route through the Internet Flight Plan Submission System (SPPI). Shortly after, at 08:26 UTC, the Moscow Air Traffic Control Center issued authorization for the flight.
During communications with the Lipetsk branch of the Voronezh Air Traffic Control Center, the pilot noted that there were no further flight plans established at that time and stated that any subsequent changes would be coordinated via telephone.
The investigation
Investigators were unable to determine the exact time the aircraft was moved from its hangar or whether refueling had taken place prior to the departure on November 27. Documentation shows the flight plan was submitted under the login "fedoseevl6" for the route between coordinates 52°40'N 041°42'E and 52°33'N 039°45'E.
