On October 10, 2018, an RRJ-95B operated by JSC "Yakutia" Airline was performing a scheduled commercial flight from Ulan-Ude to Yakutsk. The aircraft, registration RA-89011, was carrying two flight crew members, three cabin crew members, and 87 passengers, along with various cargo and baggage.
During the landing on runway 23L at Yakutsk airport, the aircraft exhausted the available runway length. Traveling at a speed of 40-50 km/h, the aircraft overran the runway and struck a 0.4-meter-high protruding section of a reconstructed runway segment. The aircraft eventually came to a stop approximately 60 meters beyond this protrusion, 10 meters to the left of the runway centerline.
The impact destroyed the main landing gear supports and caused damage to several structural elements of the aircraft. While the collision resulted in a fuel spill, no fire occurred. All passengers were evacuated from the aircraft using inflatable slides. There were no injuries reported among the passengers or crew.
The incident occurred during a nighttime operation while one thrust reverser was deactivated.
