What happened
On September 11, 2020, a Bekas X-32-912, registration RA-0291G, was performing aerial application of desiccants over sunflower fields. While the pilot was executing a turn during the agricultural spraying process, the aircraft struck an overhead power line. At the time of the impact, the aircraft was flying at a true altitude of approximately 20 to 25 meters. Following the collision, the aircraft lost significant airspeed and altitude, leading to a subsequent impact with the ground. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft and one fatality.
The investigation
Investigators confirmed that the aircraft was engaged in chemical crop treatment at the time of the accident. The examination of the site determined that there was no breakage or failure of the power line prior to the collision.
