On August 18, 2024, a Z-4CONG aircraft, registration RA-2809G, was scheduled to perform demonstration flights from the RYZDVYANYY landing site in the Izobilnensky Urban District, Stavropol Krai. The pilot-in-command had submitted an ICAO flight plan to the Rostov Air Traffic Control Center on August 15, 2024, for operations in airspace classes C and G at an altitude of 1000 meters.
Prior to departure, the pilot arrived at the aircraft base at approximately 08:15. The aircraft was refueled with approximately 60 liters of A-95 grade gasoline. While the pilot did not undergo a pre-flight medical examination, this was permitted under FAR-128 regulations for operations from this specific landing site.
The flight departed from the RYZDVYANYY landing site at 09:05 on a magnetic heading of 357 degrees. During the flight, the pilot initiated a stall maneuver. After completing one stall rotation, the pilot successfully recovered the aircraft.
Following the recovery, the aircraft was engaged in a complex aerobatic maneuver known as a 'skid.' The accident occurred approximately 3.6 km northwest of the Ryzdvyanyy settlement.
