What happened
A flight departing from Ravenna-La Spreta Airport for a local skydiving operation ended in an accident shortly after departure. The aircraft, a single-engine plane, was carrying a pilot, a child, and nine skydivers at the time of the incident.
Following takeoff from runway 08, the aircraft began its climb, reaching an altitude of approximately 50 feet. During this initial ascent, the plane executed a left-hand turn, after which it lost altitude and struck an open field situated roughly 380 meters beyond the end of the runway.
All 11 occupants sustained injuries during the impact, with five individuals reported to have suffered serious injuries. The aircraft was completely destroyed in the crash.
Findings
The accident occurred during the climb phase of flight, characterized by a loss of altitude immediately following a turn at a very low altitude.
