What happened
During an operation at Córdoba-Pajas Blancas Airport, an aircraft initiated a takeoff from runway 36. After completing an extended ground roll, the crew began the rotation process. However, the aircraft failed to gain sufficient altitude, maintaining a very low rate of climb immediately following liftoff.
As the aircraft continued its shallow ascent, it struck trees situated beyond the threshold of the runway. The impact caused the aircraft to enter a stall, leading to a subsequent crash in a forested region approximately 2 km from the end of the runway. Upon impact, the wreckage ignited, resulting in a post-crash fire.
Findings
- The accident resulted in eight fatalities and one serious injury among the occupants.
- The primary factor in the accident was the inability of the aircraft to achieve an adequate climb rate following rotation.
