What happened
During a flight traveling from Arizona to Kelowna, a twin-engine aircraft made a scheduled technical stop in Boise, Idaho. While cruising at an altitude of 8,500 feet, the aircraft suffered a simultaneous failure of both engines. In response to the loss of power, the pilot initiated a descent to a lower altitude and sought an emergency landing site in a level area situated approximately 37 miles south of Kelowna, near Beaverdell.
As night fell, the aircraft struck a fence and multiple trees within a Christmas tree plantation before coming to a final stop. Despite the impact, all six occupants were able to evacuate the wreckage without injury. The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss.
Findings
Initial reports indicate that the aircraft still possessed sufficient fuel levels at the time of the incident. The precise reason for the dual engine failure remains under investigation by authorities.
