What happened
During a local training session at Glenview Airport, an aircraft operated by a flight training crew was performing maneuvers when an accident occurred. The crew, consisting of one instructor and two student pilots, was in the process of approaching runway 27. During this phase of flight, the instructor elected to perform a go-around procedure. Following this maneuver, the crew attempted a new approach toward runway 35.
During the transition, the aircraft experienced a loss of control. In the moments leading up to the impact, the instructor cancelled the IFR flight plan. The aircraft subsequently crashed into several residential houses situated in the vicinity of the airport. The accident resulted in three fatalities among the crew members. There were no reported injuries or casualties among the residents on the ground.
