What happened

On the morning of the accident, an aircraft departed from Chofu Aerodrome at 10:26 JST. The flight was being conducted as a company test flight to prepare for an upcoming airworthiness certification inspection. On board were the pilot and a mechanic.

Approximately twenty-six minutes after takeoff, at roughly 10:52, the aircraft went down in a forested area located in Nishine, Kamiose, Ogawa, within the Naka County region of Ibaraki Prefecture. The impact resulted in a fire that completely destroyed the aircraft. There were two fatalities among the crew members on board.
