What happened

On 28 May 2015, a Malindo Air ATR72-600, registered 9M-LMG, departed Penang International Airport for Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah International Airport in Subang. Shortly after takeoff, while the aircraft was climbing through approximately 800 feet and retracting flaps, the crew received an engine fire warning on the Engine Warning Display.

In response to the alert, the flight crew executed emergency procedures, which included the discharge of both onboard fire extinguishers.
