What happened
On March 10, 2014, at approximately 11:30 local time, an Aquila A210 (registration HB-SFU) was being prepared for a local flight at the Hausen am Albis airfield. Following standard taxi procedures, the pilot began moving the aircraft from the hangar apron toward the taxiway for runway 27.
While navigating a left-hand turn after passing the airfield's refueling station, the aircraft's right wing made contact with a temporary construction profile located on the ground. The impact resulted in significant injuries to a passenger on board, though no third parties were involved in the incident.
The investigation
The investigation was conducted as a summary report based on available statements. Investigators focused on the aircraft's path of travel and the presence of the obstacle during the taxi phase. The examination confirmed that the aircraft was operating under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) for private purposes at the time of the event.
