What happened
On 8 July 2022, at approximately 11:00 UTC, a Robin DR 400/140 B, registered as HB-KBX, was involved in an accident near Culoz, France. The aircraft, operated by Air-Club d'Yverdon-les-Bains, had departed from Yverdon-les-Bains Aérodrome (LSGY) with the intention of landing at LFLY. During the flight, the aircraft experienced a loss of control, which led to the destruction of the airframe. There were no fatalities or injuries reported among the pilot or the single passenger on board.
The investigation
Following the occurrence, an investigation was initiated by the French Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA France). The investigation focused on the circumstances leading to the loss of control and the mechanical state of the aircraft at the time of the incident.
