What happened
On March 30, 1967, a Cessna 150, registered as HB-CBF, was being moved across the tarmac at Geneva Airport. During the process of repositioning the aircraft, a student pilot lost control of the machine. This loss of control led to a collision with a hangar door.
The investigation
The investigation established that the impact caused significant damage to both the aircraft and the infrastructure. Specifically, two sections of the hangar door were severely damaged during the event. The pilot involved in the incident did not sustain any injuries.
Findings
- The primary cause of the accident was the loss of control by the student pilot while attempting to move the aircraft on the ground.
