What happened
On the night of October 10, 1966, a Caravelle SE 210 with registration CS-TCC was operating at Geneva Airport. While taxiing, the aircraft departed from its prescribed taxiway path. During the excursion, the aircraft crossed the line of blue taxiway edge lights on two separate occasions.
The investigation
The investigation established that the aircraft left the designated taxiway during the onset of darkness. The movement caused the aircraft to strike airport equipment, specifically destroying one barrier and four taxiway lights. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
